Jim Rapp has spent more than 30 years doing one thing at the highest level: building trust with families navigating complex financial lives. The majority of his career was spent at JPMorgan Private Bank in Chicago, one of the most demanding environments in private wealth, where the expectation isn't just performance — it's judgment. Jim developed a reputation for the kind of steady, relationship-first counsel that clients come back to year after year, and decade after decade.
In 2011, Jim made a deliberate transition to Wintrust Wealth Management, where he and Justin Klestinski rebuilt their practice around a smaller, more focused client base. When LPL's acquisition of Wintrust's wealth division created a crossroads, Jim knew exactly what he wanted: full independence, no institutional constraints, and the freedom to serve clients without answering to scalability targets. Co-founding KRM Investment Counsel with Justin was that answer.
Jim holds a business degree from the University of Missouri and FINRA Series 7, 63, and 66 licenses. He and his wife Heidi split their time between Chicago and Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
